that's where my daughter's team was based. 15 years ago the Shamrocks were head and shoulders above all others. They were the first east coast team to win the ASA Gold title in '05; ironically the year after AT was with them. The pitchers that year were Megan (?) Elliott who went on to Arizona and my daughter's teammate at JMU Jenny Clohan. Clohan won the title game. The other really strong team then was the tidewater-based VA Legends. We felt we should never lose to any team based north of us and rarely did. The Carolina Cardinals were the premier team in western NC and arguable the Carolina Wildcats, my daughters team, was the best in the east. The toughest team we faced regularly were out of Atlanta and the Tampa Bay area but those names escape me.
